  1. BM – WOW! is that a gasp of delight you’re covering up there? it’s beautiful!!!! and will be lovely on mother’s day :)

  2. THANK YOU!!! I am thrilled this is FINISHED!

What looks like ribbing on the bottom is actually columns of slip-stitch that then continues up into the body…

    WOOT!

  3. WOWZA!!! Wavy Bulb is GORGEOUS! I thought the sweater version was nice, but now that I’ve seen your cardie version… I am green with envy. F

  4. Now that is a beautiful sweater. A *vast* improvement in design over the original. Love the 2-way zipper, love the collar….love it.

  5. WOW, Bonne Marie! Did you have this finished last night and not bring it out? I wish I’d seen it in person! It looks gorgeous!

  6. Judging from the photo, I’d say that the agony was worth it. ;-) Lovely job! Great color! Great fit!

  7. Never having seen the sweater in the mag to know what it was supposed to look like, I couldn’t visualize it from the work in progress pics. It’s wonderful! :)

  8. OH WOW – It’s beautiful! I hope you get a few cold days so you can enjoy it – otherwise, just crank up the ol’ A/C. It’s a shame to let it languish waiting for colder days next Fall! Job well done!!

  9. The sweater is great…and your photography is simply smashing…enhances the sweater, if that’s possible.

  10. WOW! Is it as good for you as it is for us? :) Thanks for sharing the process with us… I appriciate it’s beauty so much more knowing the time and brain power you put into it!
    Congrats!

  11. The Wavy bulb turned out beautifully and you must be so thrilled to have it done! I can’t wait to see what takes its place on the WIP front. Hooray for you!

  12. Fab,fab,fab !
I can only agree with all the pther posts.
You have created something beautiful, that looks stunning on you,and I am deeply impressed.

  13. OMG, it is beautiful! I have been lurking for a while but this amazing FO has prompted me to come out of hiding. Love the mods, love the colour, love everything! You are a knit goddess!

  14. Now THAT’s what you call “shock and awe”! All that noodling over the re-design was certainly worth the effort. I love Shirley Paden, but I’m not sure you can even call this a Shirley Paden design, heavily modified anymore. The main pattern stitch is almost the only thing left.

All the attention to design and detail hurdles have paid off in the extreme. Kudos!

  15. JEEZ – it’s amazing. Bulbs? I think of the flower – tulips, when I see it. Thanks for the inspiration – wear in good health.

  16. Bonne Marie,

That is the most beautiful sweater that I have ever seen: color, design, flawless execution!! I hope that you enjoy it in good health.

  17. It’s beautiful. All the painstaking work you put into it really paid off–a lesson in persistence for us all! I’m sure you’ll get oodles of compliments whenever you wear it.

  18. I’ve been following you and your work for a while now but haven’t ever posted but felt I had to let you know how fabulous this is. Congratulations. You’re a huge inspiration to me.

  19. Finally making the blog rounds and OMGoodness! It is gorgeous! Hmmmm…….digging out my old VKs and searching my stash!
