I love knitting because it relieves my boredom while waiting, watching sports & terrible movies and also gives me a lovely something at the end of my project!
I love knitting because it relaxes me and gives me an outlet for some of my creativity!
I am a multi-tasker and I love knitting because it calms me down and allows me to focus on only one thing.
I love knitting because it’s so relaxing. I also enjoy sewing and other crafts, but nothing seems to come close to the calming, meditative nature of knitting. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love knitting because I can do amazing things with sticks and strings! I love how I can make beautiful elegant things or bright cheery whimsical things and the only thing stopping me is the amount of time I have available (but, let’s be honest, we all end up making time don’t we?)
I love knitting because I am fascinated by the ingenious construction techniques knitters use. Turning a heel? Magic!
I love knitting because it reminds me that little actions add up to something big. So often it’s hard to see the effect of what we do, but with knitting, even if you only do a couple of rows a day, eventually you’ll end up with something tangible to show for it. It’s immensely satisfying.
I love knitting because it makes me a nicer person. I’m much calmer when I’m knitting.
I love knitting because it is magic. It makes time go faster and it makes time go slower. It takes a string and makes a hug. It makes math become poetry. It makes my favorite colors dance on my body.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
I love knitting not only for giving me something to do with my hands, but for making my world a much bigger place. My knitting groups have opened up possibilities to me that I never imagined.
I love knitting because it is magic. It makes time go faster and it makes time go slower. It takes a string and makes a hug. It makes math become poetry. It makes my favorite colors dance on my body.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Ms ChicKnits!
I love knitting because I can do it anywhere I have to wait on something. I love making things for my grandkids.
I love knitting because it helps relax me at the end of the day, keeps me busy during my commute to work, and also challenges me creatively and with techniques! And I can carry it with me wherever I go!
I love knitting because it satisfies my need to create both useful and functional objects. And to keep warm.
Wow…that is the BEST red ever!!
I don’t always love knitting…but I love the end result – makes me slow down so I’m focusing on the current rather than running at 50 miles an hour always focusing on tomorrow. It makes my stress level lower because knitting is hypnotic and soothing.
I don’t love knitting because I love small needle projects – or rather the end result of small needle projects so my impatience to have an end result is always negating the SLOOOOOW progress!
I love to knit because I love the fibers and colors. I enjoy the challenge of finishing a project and having something I enjoy giving as gifts or keeping for myself. I have a wonderful afghan that I’ve had for several years and during the cold weather it feels great! I also enjoy the friendships that I’ve made with others who love to knit.
I live in Minnesota so obviously….wool socks.
I love knitting because with just a ball of yarn and needles I can create something beautiful and share warm cozy gifts with the ones I love! What could be better?!
I love knitting, because it’s knitting!!
Beautiful color on that yarn.
I love knitting because it takes me to a place of relaxation, while also being an outlet for my creativity. Starting a new project is like starting a new relationship! Very exciting at the beginning and never knowing how it is going to end … :-)
Happy Valentines Day! Sue
It would be easier to say what I don’t like about knitting. I love it all- Only wish they would let me do it at work!
I love knitting because I love making things that I can wear, they are unique and can make them my own. I love making things for other people it’s a great way to give a personal gift. I love the therapy it provides me and my husband thinks it’s sexy !!
I love the smell of lanolin, a nice warm lap full of wool on a chilly winter day, and turning a plain ball of yarn into something really chic.
I live knitting because it’s portable peace.
Knitting is the perfect combination of making, creating, and relaxing.
I love the flow of creating the knitting stiches and see progress as I knit. I also like knitting because I can have a glass of wine while I knit and I can’t do that when I run or ride a bike or do yoga!
I love knitting because it is more relaxing than wine. And I need a reason to fondle yarn.
I love knitting because it’s warm in the winter! And my coworkers think I’m really talented, even when projects are easy.
Knitting provides some peace and serenity in my busy and hectic life. Then there’s the spinning and making yarn that makes for a wonderful tactile and visual experience.
Love the tactile experience!
I love knitting because when I make a hand knitted gift for someone I love, each stich I knit is a chance to show them how much I care.
I love knitting because of beautiful colors like TART! And I can be the boss of my knitting…my kids, my husband, that pile of laundry, the chaos at work…not so much.
I love knitting because it is a creative, productive, relaxing, and sensual (i.e. working with various fibers) activity. It is portable and it can be done nearly anywhere and everywhere :)
What a lovely prize!
Knitting has been a daily part of my life for over 40 years. I’ve knit for 4 kids (who are all grown up knitters now), for 8 siblings, for my mom, who passed away last year (and was wrapped in a lace shawl I knit), for 4 godsons and for many beloved great-nieces and nephews. It never gets old, never gets boring. I have already instructed my family that I want to be buried with my last WIP in my hands and with a goodly supply of yarn to take to heaven :-)
I love knitting for so many reasons, I can make something beautiful and take advantage of the good taste and style of people I will never meet, yarn endlessly fascinates me, from acrylic to silk, durable Red Heart to jewel tones of hand-dyed, knitting gives me something to do and is fun in its own right, it keeps my hands busy so I can’t snack too much, I can wear what I make knowing it is the only one like it on the planet, I can give someone a gift they won’t get from anyone else.
I love knitting for the tactile pleasure of it, the ability to make my own custom clothes and accessories, and the knowledge that I will never feel bored!
because it soothes my soul
i love knitting because it soothes my soul
I love knitting because it’s my therapy…it’s portable and I can do it pretty much anywhere. I have unique things that are beautiful and make great gifts, if I can part with them. And I get to play with yarn! That red is my absolute favorite red…just made a cowl out of it and never want to take it off.
Mmmm. Love the color and Madeleine tosh. Happy Valentine’s day to everyone♡♥♡♥♡
I Love knitting because my hands knit sweater, hat, scarf with love to whom i knit!
I love knitting because I love the physicality: color, texture, even the smell of yarn. I love it because it grounds me, centers me. And I love to make things.
I knit because it helps me not only with my anxiety, but also makes me feel useful, since falling ill, I have not been able to do much, but knitting always me to make clothing for my family without causing me any discomfort.
I love knitting because it has made me more patient and I can make things that I love to wear.
Knitting has helped me learn patience and perseverance. Plus it is so fun to make stuff that makes people warm and happy. It is creativity and peace that I can bring with me.
I love knitting because it is a form of meditation, calming and soothing. It is my “ME” time. I am relaxed and rejuvenated all at the same with a wonderful finished object to wear that lifts mine or another’s spirits. Additionally, knitting has brought me into the lives of some wonderful, positive, encouraging, caring and amazing people that I am lucky to call friends/family!!! Knitters are truly the best peeps to know!!!!
I love knitting because I love making things with my hands. I love the sensual pleasure of yarn in my hands, and I love the feeling of creating things.
I love knitting because it has saved my sanity. During the most stressful times of my life, I’ve kept myself composed and peaceful with the steady click of the needles. Better than any pill!
I had to wait for 49 years to be able to knit and learn new stitches….finally retired. Now I gave 15 things going and can hardly wait to start another….HAPPY KNITTING
I love knitting because it fits so well in my backpack when canoeing, jeeping and hiking:)
