Knitting is “me” time and helps me relax. After a crazy day at work, I love coming home and knitting something.
I love knitting because it is my main medium of making things. My hands twitch to MAKE. Other mediums interest and frustrate me, but knitting will always be a balm, a joy, a learning experience. And with it comes a marvelous community.
I love knitting because it saves my sanity.
Just one of the reasons I love knitting is because it gives me something productive and enjoyable to do while waiting — sitting in the car stopped by the train, waiting in the doctor’s office, etc. Before learning to knit, the waiting drove me crazy and seemed to never end… after learning to knit, the waiting goes by so fast i’m ready to wait for something else and never feel angry or impatient while waiting :)
I love knitting because it is such a rewarding creative medium. Something as simple as a scarf can be a work of art. There is always something new to learn, something to challenge my skill level. And yet, if I don’t feel like being challenged, knitting offers a comforting, satisfying opportunity to be creative and productive even in simple techniques. I love making beautiful things fo family and friends!
So many reasons I love knitting, but mostly it warms me up inside and out ♥
“Why I LOVE knitting” I have several reasons. First, it’s has gotten me through rough times and calmed me down. It has GIVEN me patience, I don’t like it when people comment they don’t have the patience to knit, I use to be very impatient. Knitting gives me a creative outlet and amazes me that I can create things out of yarn and needles. Knitting gives me peace which at this point in my life I really need. And last but not least knitting is FUN, it’s actually is a BLAST!!! Everybody should give it at least a try! And that’s “Why I LOVE knitting”.
I love knitting because it takes me to a happy place. My husband has Alzheimer’s Disease and when I have a moment to relax, unwind or just go to another place for a “me moment” I pick up my needles and start knitting and purling away the tension. Even if it’s only for 15 to 20 minutes it helps me refocus on what’s at hand and get to work. Always knowing that when I can find another block of time for a “me moment” I can run back to my needles and joyfully see an accomplishment being created before my eyes!
I love knitting because it keeps me focused and calm. The fiber in my fingers and dancing needles ground me throughout the day, in class, in meetings – I hear more and am more productive because of knitting. I also take a huge amount if accomplishment in my well-crafted items that I wear or give as gifts with joy.
Love to see all the beautiful fibers that knitting produces
I love knitting because I love creating beautiful, useful things with a ball of yarn and a couple of needles.
I love knitting for the marriage of right/left brain activities.
I love knitting because it keeps me sane–or at least saner.
Knitting keeps me sane; I am a customer service rep for a large hardware co-op. Let’s just say that no one calls just to say “Hi!” I love my job & being helpful in all situations is what I do, but this prolonged winter storm/polar vortex is taking the will to live out of a lot of people. Knitting a few rounds on a hat or socks on break/lunch takes the edge off & allows me to smile when getting cussed out in a variety of languages!
I love knitting because it is thrilling to create something out of nothing.
I am new to knitting coming from the crochet side of the yarn world I am falling deeply in love with kin knitting because the seed stitch is mezmorozing and allows me get lost in the soft yarn.
It’s something I feel called to do. It is the one thing I do in the midst of work craziness that reestablishes balance, creativity and relaxation – all while creating the most amazing fabric with two sticks. Tart is a favorite of mine –
I love to knit because my Mother taught me by example and now I’m passing that love onto my granddaughters.
Because it gives me an excuse to buy beautiful yarn!
I love knitting as it provides me with a creative outlet where I can combine my analytical and artistic skills. At the same time I am able to meet and connect with incredible people I would have never known if it was not for knitting!!!
Knitting is my yoga. It defines me, centers me, fulfills me. Knitting is who I am.
I love knitting because the process just soothes my soul. Watching a simple ball of yarn become some lovely object of clothing takes my breath away.
I love knitting because there’s always something new and creative that catches my eye – whether it’s a small or large project, knitting always puts a smile on my face!
I love knitting because it gives my brain a chance to relax, but my fingers keep on making something useful. Awesome stress relief! (I have a pin that says, “I knit so I do not kill people.” True dat!)
I love knitting gifts for my friends and family! Their appreciation for my gifts make it so worthwhile!
Knitting is in my DNA.
I love knitting because it’s my time to unwind! Whether it’s a few quick rows on my lunch break or some work with my coffee on a Sunday morning
I love knitting because it is so relaxing and I forget my daily stress.
I love knitting because it connects me to women, past, present, and future.
Why do I love knitting? Because the rhythmic clacking of my needles drowns out the voices in my head! LOL Seriously though, it soothes and calms me like nothing else. It’s the last thing I do before going to sleep, the perfect end to all my days. :-)
My current favorite thing about knitting is that it is the best excuse to watch tv. So many things to love about knitting. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
I love knitting because it’s a moving meditation for me. I can feel my heart rate dropping and my muscles relaxing all over my body whenever I pick up the needles. My racing thoughts calm, I’m more centered, and no matter the situation, I’m soothed and comforted by the familiar act of creating something out of two sticks and some string. I used to knit because it was a craft that resulted in something practical, and don’t get me wrong…I love that I get a pair of socks or a hat or a cowl or whatever out of the time spent. But that’s not why I do it anymore. It’s mostly to keep my sanity these days. :D
I love knitting because it keeps me sane.
I love knitting because it gives me an outlet for my creative ideas and yearnings. It’s also therapy for my numb hands and helps to relax my body, mind and spirit. What can I say, I love knitting!
I love knitting because the process of looping one stitch through another fascinates me. One whole sock from a single unbroken strand of yarn? Amazing! I love knitting because it keeps my hands busy while my mind jumps from one thing to another. Relaxing. Soothing. Calming (except when it’s not). Productive.
I love knitting because it is like breathing to me!
I love knitting because creating things is much better than picking my nose!
I love knitting because it soothes my soul. The color. the texture, the promise of a new adventure. If I am too tired to knit, I can look at patterns on Ravelry or browse beautiful yarn on Etsy. Even just thinking about it takes me away from the stress of the day and refreshes me.
I love knitting because it is always new and different. The colors, the textures of individual kinds of yarn always engage. I learn something new in the strangest places (like having to learn circular knittig because of baby hats!) and I have found a community of like-minded people who love to share what they know, so I am always successfully finishing projects because there was someone online who figured it out before I did. I have fallen into the rabbit hole of stashing and I don’t care if I ever use it all up! :-)
I love knitting because I have met some wonderful friends through a knitting group. We laugh til our sides hurt, share our lives and help each other with our projects. What could be better therapy?
I love knitting because:
1. I do not possess the ability to sit still. It is impossible for me to do only one thing at a time. While knitting I generally watch t.v., check out my computer and quite possibly read a book.
2. I have moved several times. Every time I do, my first friends are always the knitters at the local knit shop.
3. It is my connection to my dear Norwegian grandmother. She was never without knitting needles in her hands!
I LOVE knitting because:
1. Reminds me of my grandmother, keeps me connected to family that knits also.
2. Introduces me to new people from all different backgrounds and life stories.
3. Keeps me grounded; it reminds me I am not a perfect person and knitting is forgiving and so are knitters (and all fiber artists).
4. It is scientific without being over my head.
5. Rhythmic and relaxing.
6. Always there for me whenever I need it.

I love knitting because it is a form of meditation for me. It helps to keep my mind focused on something that will be beautiful when it’s done and to keep me from focussing on other things that are weighing heavily on my mind. I love to make beautiful things and keep my hands busy.
I love knitting because it allows me to both create and express myself.
I love knitting because it’s my constant companion. I take it everywhere. So if I have to wait at a doctor’s appointment or there’s nothing good on TV, no worries I’m always entertained. I never grow tired of it!
I love knitting because it produces a beautiful product and is so relaxing. I have been knitting for many years but learn something new daily. I participate at three local yarn shops in “Sit and Knit” nights as well as On-line KAL’s. I knit in public almost daily – lunch, appointments, etc. Love, love yarn and all the beautiful colors. I never leave home without a knitting bag in hand.
I love knitting because it is relaxful and I love yarn!
I LOVE knitting because it completes me. My children all know that every stitch is created with love, every person I teach becomes one more best friend in my heart. Therapy, release, productivity, love, life, entertainment, hopes, dreams and lots more are all found in my 35 years worth of knitting.
I love knitting because it relaxes me. I’m never without several projects going at once – so I can choose the “watching tv one – or one that I “tune out everything” around me and focus on patterns. Big needles…. tiny needles … I use them all – but the best part of knitting is having luscious yarn slipping through my fingers!
