  1. I love knitting because it feeds my soul. There will always be something new to learn next, and I love finding out at the end of it all “wow, I really can do this.”

  2. I LOVE to knit because not only do I get to create something out of beautiful colored yarn that I
painstakeingly choose for each project. But knitting also helps me with my pain management. While I am knitting am concentrating on my work and not so much on my high pain levels. And choosing projects, yarns, learning new techniques. It keeps me busy without causing more pain. Thank you for asking. Have a great Valentines Day!

  3. Knitting keeps me connected to my mom who taught me to knit 58 years ago. She passed away 3 years ago and I still miss her a lot. Knitting also keeps my hands busy at meetings so don’t fidget. It helps me connect with wonderful people who share my love of sticks and strings. Lastly I. Love to gift friends and family with knitted hugs from my needles.

  4. Knitting feeds my soul and spirit – dreaming up the next project, gathering supplies, starting it, the entertaining process of it, satisfaction of finishing, giving it away or keeping it for myself! And then it begins again…

  5. I love knitting because it’s relaxing and I love the end result! I enjoy learning new things and love all the patterns that designers come up with! Revelry is my favorite place to search for new patterns!

  6. I love knitting because I’m a fiber fanatic. Knitting allows me to wrap myself in baby alpaca. Nuff said.

  7. I love knitting because its fun, soothing, constructive, the materials are terrific. Yarn gets better with every stitch

  8. I have had so many health issues . I was in the hospital bed. The doctor thought I needed help to get out of bed. What he did not know was I could not reach my knitting from the bed. When he came in my room, smile and ask how I got out of bed. I told him my knitting was calling my name.

  9. Knitting is my zen. It’s my creative outlet, it’s a peaceful place. I can lose myself in each stitch after a hard day

  10. I love knitting because it gives me something to do that ends up with something gorgeous!!

  11. I continue to be impressed by your classic yet modern patterns.Ever since I made my first sweater from you all over a year and a half ago ago, I have been eagerly awaiting your next one. You have my favorite color! Looking at all I have made ….it is black or RED. Keep up the good work!

  12. Knitting means so many different things to me. It keeps me sane & helps me to relax (unless I’m frogging!). It’s a creative endeavor for me & allows me to produce a tangible item with my two hands. Its’ a learning process for me: I’ve knit for over a decade, but I keep finding new techniques to learn. It’s a great way for me to pass time that’s otherwise wasted – doctors’ waiting rooms & road trips are now enjoyable time-sucks. Finally, it’s introduced me to new friends & experiences that I would have had without knitting. I can’t imagine having considered going to a sheep & wool festival in my pre-knitting days! Now, I think it’s the coolest thing ever!

  13. Knitting helps me to maintain my sanity while allowing me to have a creative outlet. There is not a better feeling than the pride one experiences after finishing any beautiful handknitted item be it a simple accessory or the most complex project.

  14. I love knitting because it is such a versatile craft. It can be pure creativity but also very technical. There is always something new: patterns, techniques, yarns….

  15. I LOVE knitting because it is relaxing and is a way to be creative and productive at the same time.

  16. I love the whole process, which then gets topped off with the “oohs” and “ahhs” and especially the “you MADE that?!”. So satisfying!

  17. I love knitting. Every day. As a creative and productive way of expressing my affection and thanks to friends and family, there’s the additional benefit of being a huge means for justifying my addiction to yarn.

  18. Wow! Thank you for being so generous! I love knitting because I love making. I love knowing that I made my sweater or scarf. It feels like a connection to the past leading to the future when hopefully others will get to wear these garments that I’m making! The fact that I find knitting relaxing and I get to touch beautiful yarns and play with different colours doesn’t hurt either!

  19. One reason I love knitting is that I get to make each item I make unique. New stitches and techniques, and the endless array of colors and textures of yarn make knitting each project a joy.

  20. I love knitting because I love the color and texture of yarn, and the knitted fabric. It is amazing to me that changing the position of needles, or the way the yarn is wrapped can create an entirely different pattern.

  21. I love knitting because it lets me be creative as much as I can, make lovely things most of the time, get to touch all the beautiful yarn and spend endless time on Ravelry. Seems that it is also good for our health!

  22. I love knitting because it is very portable. You can knit while walking, waiting in a line, stuck in a traffic jam or just chilling with the TV on. Knitting always attracts new friends and interested bystanders, it creates conversations and begins new friendships. Knitting is my therapy for a very busy life and I like to do therapy every day!!

  23. The endless options of color, texture, style, drape, warmth and construction make knitting absolutely irresistible. The tart-y tosh skeins are gorgeous.

  24. There are so many reasons why I love knitting. I like the challenge of it. I like something else to do when I watch tv. I love knitting gifts for my friends and family. I love the different yarns and the different colors. I like the feeling of accomplishment I get when I finish a project. I love wearing my knitted things. I love planning projects, picking out patterns and the yarn I’ll use. I love the camaraderie of the knitting groups on Ravelry. I’m sure there are more reasons why I love to knit but that’s all I can think of at the moment.

  25. Knitting to me is “peace”. Quiet time to reflect on things past and present. A cup of coffee, a big comfy chair, a fire in the wood stove that my husband made just for me on a snowy weekend and my darling field spaniel, Penny curled up beside me- this to me is life at its best.

  26. I love knitting because it grounds me. I started knitting a lot when my twin boys were very young and knitting helped me to remain calm during very hectic times.

Also, knitting has connected me with some amazing people from all over. Some of whom I am very good friends with.

To me, knitting is a gift. And, as a result I have beautiful things that I have made for myself and others.

    Happy Valentines Day Bonne Marie!

  27. I love knitting because awesome designers like Bonne Marie make it so much fun and rewarding!

  28. I love watching tv, and never feel guilty because I am busy knitting something wonderful also!

  29. I Love Knitting because it keeps my hands and mind busy. I love the texture and sensation of the different fibers. I love the creativity I can express with color and texture. But the best thing about knitting is seeing someone wearing the things I have made. It is like getting a hug every time I see one of my knitted items. Love.

  30. I love knitting! It is a great stress reliever for me and it is so wonderful to see something that I am creating grow on the needles and become finished product. As a mother of 4 my knitting time is limited but I have to wait a lot longer to see the finished product of those creations!

  31. I love knitting because this one hobby can be a meditation, a creative outlet, a sensual experience, and a conduit for friends to get together, all at once. Not to mention shopping. Don’t forget about the shopping.

  32. I love to make things with my hands. I wish I could paint, draw, or sculpt, but I never get the results I want. When I knit I am playing with color, texture, and sometimes in my swatches these combination stuns me.

  33. I love knitting because I get to make beautiful clothing in the colors I like with wonderful fibers and I don’t feel as guilty watching tv when I’m knitting!

  34. I love spinning and knitting clothing/accessories with wool/silk fiber. Knitting and spinning is an expression of my emotions, calming, peaceful and creative.

  35. I love knitting because when I am making a project for someone, I think of them with every stich and when they are wearing it I think of it as me giving them a constant hug. That and I it makes me feel better about vegging out in front of the TV if I can be productive and knit at the same time.

  36. I get such a feeling of accomplishment whenever I finish a project. I feel connected to my mother and grandmother. And it’s such a relaxing and portable hobby.

  37. I love to knit because it has given me great friends. It gives me an outlet for my creativity and a way to relax after a stressful day. It also helped me get through my father’s last illness with dr. appointments and hospital stays, I made many socks through the last 2 years.

  38. I love knitting because of its therapeutic value. I live with an immune system disorder and on bad days it gives me a sense that I can accomplish something and can bless someone with a handmade gift.
