for your Summer Delight: the Ribby Shell! On the Left: the 2x2x3x1 completely ribbed version made from Tahki Cotton Classic. Ooh, La, LA! This was a pleasure to knit with – the cotton just slides through your hands and is silky and soft. I did not block this version – I wanted to just enjoy my ribs. It is very fitted, but not tight. On the Right: the Flat-paneled version made from Vittadini *Teresa*, a cotton microfiber blend. A strand of this yarn is like a tiny, tiny pantyhose wrapped around a cotton core. I blocked this version with a water spray to set the stitches and define the front panel. This version has a more relaxed fit via the flat-paneled front making it cooler, and a touch faster to knit.. |

Another classic from ChicKnits studio. Would be sumptuous in Rowan’s Calmer.

For slightly loose knitters like me, Schachenmayr Micro and Micro Color. The recommended gauge is 23 sts/4 inches, but I knit it at 20 for a Shapely Tank and it came out beautifully. Plus the colors/colorways are so beautiful!
I just bought Jaeger Trinity and I think I’ll do the flat front version with it. I don’t especially like knitting with Trinity, but the finished product will look nice and nubby. Can’t wait!
Love the design. I agree with Leslie that Calmer is a great choice. Good thing I’ve got some in my stash!
I think Classic Elite’s Star would look really cool in this, especially if you want it to be really clingy. I swore I would never use that boucle yarn again because it got so knotted up while I was trying to ball it but it looks soooo neat once it is knitted [sigh]
How about some yarn fran-say? Bergereine by Bergere de France – 50/50 wool and cotton. Reminds me of Cotton Fleece, knits up at the gauge required and creates a nice fabric with some cling. Let’s see…Plassard Coton Lin and Plassard Ceruse, which comes in lots of beautiful variegated colors and looks good ribbed.
Just bought this and the Chickami…don’t know what took me so long. Looks like fun, quick, easy summer knitting.

I’d add Elsebeth Lavold Cotton Patine today because I’ve been using it for the last week or so and it’s wonderful. A step up from Reynolds Saucy, I think. Although the Saucy did make a great Chickami (and the price is right), the Cotton Patine is nicer on the hands and the fabric is a bit less substantial. Still the same coverage of the flesh, but the yarn has more fluff in between the strands or something.
Big DUH! It was already there.
Revise that: I second the recommendation for Cotton Patine.
How about Berroco Denim Silk?
I love this design, I have been searching all my mags for just this type of shell top. I purchased the pattern and then got the yarn during lunchbreak. I am trying Lion Brand – cotton ease, which is 50% cotton/50% acrylic, in bubblegum pink color. I would consider this a worsted weight, but I am a tight knitter, and did get gauge with the suggested needles.
