Monday Morning Mirth

The Tribe 2012 Style

I’ve been especially enjoying all the global fashion week runway shows lately. There’s always verve, nerve and, but of course, drama.

In Paris, ex-pat Californian Rick Owens presented a show rich with noble, simple lines; organic exotic finishes.

Crowning overall? Knit beanies, with mesh face-plates, characterizing his creations as “…”a coquettish and beautiful” version of a veiled Marlene Dietrich in Hollywood.”

But is it?

  2. Thanks, Fleur! (waves to UK!!!)

I’m finally learning how to tag posts and am compiling a Monday Morning Mirth one so it can be read over the duration of the blog (at least back to when I started using WordPress).

  3. First thing that came to mind was, Hannibal Lechter on the runway.
Not to be to negative, but the jackets also look reminiscent of the straight jacket.
Not everything on the runway is a good idea.

  4. Hee! I think anytime you put something over the face of women, it speaks: brutal.

Saying it is like “glamour of old” doesn’t wash in 2012, does it!? :)
