New Threads FRIDAY!

What’s more exciting than ThunderSnow
on a Spring Evening? A new FO!
Even though Mother Nature is still giving Chicago the finger with hail, snow and low temps, a certain someone has visions of tulips and daffodils running rampant in her brain. I saw things starting to come up out of the ground after work last night. Not a dream. Hostas!
And just in time to go explore the garden this weekend, my new cotton sweater. Well, cotton/wool sweater, although for the life of me I can’t figure out where they put the wool when they made the strands. Spinners? Do they card the wool fibers into the cotton? How do they mix it up?
This Ribby Pulli Hoodi, for the most part, is right to spec on the pattern.
MODS: Because I’m short-waisted AND because there looked to be a shortage of yarn for the knit, I made the sweater shorter by 1″. Sleeves were also shortened by 1″ to save yarn. In the end, I added a different dyelot of yarn to finish the hood. Here’s what was left of my original yarn…
wherein I give the finger right back at Mother N…
I love it. It turned out great and you’ll be able to wear it in no time at. I”m thinking May. Since we’re only 250 miles south, you’ll be glad to know that we are looking at daffodils and crocuses and the tulips are coming out. It’s coming. Hang on!
It’s beautiful! I must make one of these!!!
That was a close one. The finished product looks great and your yarn saving mods may indeed be a happy accident.
Oooh,, lovely, lovely! I gotta admit, I was a bit freaked out by the thunder during the snowstorm yesterday…
Wow, nice work. It looks marvy, can’t wait to see it on.
Looks wonderful…very inspiring! Quick question…how many skeins of Cotton Fleece did you end up using total?
Very cute, Ms. B! I hope the weather keeps improving in the right direction so that you get to wear it in the way it was meant to be worn.
You are the only person I know that can stretch the yarn to fit the project and end up with such beautiful results. Bravo! Bravo!
The sweater is fantastic. Happy Garden Exploration. However, if you have another blizzard, be reminded “It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature” : )
I like it! What a gorgeous color. Eeks on the yarn though! I would have been sweating it.
Seeing your beauty gives me the impetus to finish mine. This year, darn it! Wear your Ribby with pride, Miss B.
Great turnout of this project. Bloglines dropped you for a bit, so I’m just now reading you after a couple of weeks. I think you blended in the two dyelots very well.
