  1. I’m right there with you! I have a whole collection of packaging from linens. Comfortor packaging is great for roving–keeps it together, away from cat hair and you can see all the glorious colors. And, you can smush it down to fit in to an overstuffed closet!

  2. Packaging is a deciding factor when buying anything – not just linens. Packaging that is reusable for storing yarn always gets moved to the front of the queue, and the product it houses will rapidly become the product of choice.

  3. I hear ya! I got married recently, and I saved some of the packaging from new linens for yarn/project storage. The small, clear packages that sheets come in are great for packing projects for air travel. And the big plastic zipper bag that held our new comforter now holds a good deal of my stash. It smushes down and fits right under the bed.

  4. Ssssh, don’t tell . . . they’ll start charging extra for the good packages. ;o) Love that bonus, you know – spring, new curtains, new stash protection!

  5. I did EXACTLY the same thing, with both curtains and a new comforter.
    What great zippered storage bags!!!

  6. Bonus: there were little pockets in either side of the bags where the labels were so now I can put some info cards uup in there…

    squeeeeeeeee

  7. I never really thought about packaging my yarns that way. That would keep them both cat free and a lot more accessible than my current cat free method (huge plastic boxes) does!

  8. Hehe … funny I thought I was the only one who did things like that! I’ve also got a collection of bags from pajamas which are nice plastic zippered top bags. It keeps the yarn all clean and neat. I’ve even been seen to knit at the beach (but I must admit, there was lots of sand in the bottom of the bag when I got home).

  9. Not to change the subject but my RSS feeds to Chicknits stopped working again .. am I the only one?

  10. Hi Mary!

That was my fault. I am still learning WordPress and shut off the Ping Thingie. It should be back to normal on future posts.

Thanks for the heads up ;)
