Today, is a happy, happy day! It’s the luck of the Irish I’ll be wearing on my rounds — my lovely isle-knit sweater that I found at my church for $1.00 at a sale. Who knows how old? But it just gets better and better with the days going by. With the Diamonds in this sweater, I wish you wealth and success, with the Blackberry Stitches, protection, with the Horseshoe Cables, hard work united with Moss Stitch tying sucess to all.
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

$1!!! I don’t see a tag so I’m guessing it is handmade. What a steal – and what a shame that someone’s hard work goes for only a dollar. I’m sure it will be much appreciated by you though.
Oh yes, I love it – it’s the real deal from Ireland! I’ve had it for many, many years now, as did someone before me.
This was a Church Sale and just about everything was a dollar :)
Best of the day to you too!
Wow, what a blessing straight from Above. Happy St. Pat’s!!
Beautiful, both the sweater and the poetry. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Watch out for the snakes;–)
This sweater looks really lovely. Great finding!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you too! My daughter and I spent part of yesterday afternoon decorating a homeless shelter for the holiday today. We recieved compliments and thanks from the clients and left a pot of gold coins (candy!) and shamrock stickers for all to enjoy today. I love holidays!!
Oh, and your sweater is a gorgeous find. How wonderful that it found such an appropriate home with you!
What an incredible sweater, whether $1 or $100! Here’s to your good health and fortune (lifts virtual beverage).

Those Irish sweaters are indestructable. I inherited mine from my grandmother; the sweater is 51 years old this year!!
