Parlez-vous Bonneese?

Many of you have written to me for the sock pattern I used for the newest Sock Love on ChicKnits’ tootsies and here it is…

Now I can hear you saying loudly, mentally, RUKiddin’ ME!? Or even, What the —-

I’d say that too if I didn’t know that this dilly little piece of cardboard contains all the info one needs to knit that sock. I carry it around with me at all times in my wallet. Which, in fact, is where the cardboard originally came from. HANDY!

AND HERE’S YOUR HANDY CHALLENGE:
First Person to completely write up the pattern, using the above info, in beautiful full size instructions wins a MiniChic SOCK LOVE PRIZE of:

  1. Your pattern is very similar to mine, nearly identical shorthand too! One question — are your socks symmetrical or left & right?

  2. I COMPLETELY understand your chicken scratches, as they look just like some of my patterns. Except mine are written on post-its. But I don’t know enough about knitting socks to rewrite it. I have only knit ONE baby sock. Not one pair, ONE sock! :)Guess I need to force myself to learn to make a pair!

  3. ahh – the joy of math mysteries! if a blogger, knitting at 25 rpm leaves Penn Station heading westward at a rate to 50 mph, and another blogger knitting at 18 rpm leaves Chicago heading eastward at a rate of 65 mph, which one will drop a stitch first?

  4. After the winner is announced….will you reveal the sock pattern for those of us that are chicken scratch challenged? Please!

  5. Ah, I’m so far behind reading your blog! It seems the feed isn’t working… the last entry I got was when the left hand column was updated on the 18th! Yikes!

Your contest is neat, but alas I haven’t knit socks so I won’t be playing, but look forward to watching for the winner!

  6. Hmmm, even though I’m only just completing my first pair of socks, I think I could hum a few bars of this ;)

  7. Hmmm, do they have hooked on phonics for something like this? Wow, huh, well, I am stumped so I am just going to sit on my duff and wait until Monday.

  8. Hi, I just finished your sitcom chic from Knitty. I made it from some beautiful Crystal Palace Caprice from my stash. I LOVE THIS SWEATER! Thank you for writing so many great patterns. All of the knitters that I knit with are rushing to make one of their own. Jane Pollard

  9. This is driving me nutz! I’ve got most of it but there is one thing I haven’t figured out yet…okay, maybe two because I can’t read one of the little figures or letters. Arrrrrrg! I knit socks all the time.
