Glad your column is called “Monday Morning Mirth” because those shoes are comical! Even the professional models are walking extra slowly to avoid disaster. Did you order the purple sequined ankle boots?
If you order those purple platforms, I know a good ankle surgeon…
The shoes and boots appear to weigh more than the frail-looking waifs wearing them. Once again, I have officially become and old lady. :O
I’m afraid I’ll be terribly out of fashion this season.
The mess with the lines of the looks. At least that’s the way it appears to me. That, and the fact that I’d be on my hands and knees crawling;-D
Whooa! Okay, the shoes look like torture… The purple sequined things, what was up with the heels??? Okay now, really what was McQueen really thinking with the makeup for his models???? OMG is all I can say. The HUGE dark red lips… Is this really a fashion show for who can make the models wear something ridiculous??? I thought it was all about selling something… Fantasy to look better… at least that is what I thought… Not a lot of that going on… The shoes, OUCH!
Virtual is the way to shop for these shoes, that’s for sure.
I think McQueen should have to wear that makeup for a month or so and see how scary it looks.
I am all for theatrical flair (especially love the Chanel knit vintage-looking chapaeu) but am apalled by the dangerous designs for the soles. I have a pin in my right foot from a surgery, so I can’t wear high heels anymore, but when I could, I enjoyed platform soled shoes, high shoes. They were otherwise proportioned from these, meaning, inline with reality. Like walking. Without grimacing.
I saw a woman going across the street Downtown Chicago last week who was so beautifully dressed but she was basically hobbling because her shoes were too high and ill-fitting.
I have worn some high heels in my day, but the line of those shoes is generally bad. There were a few I would wear with say, a 2 or 2 and a half inch heel. I have not tried to wear heels since my ankle was repaired, so I am not sure it is still a possibility for me. Scary shoes!
