I’ve got nothing to wear October 13, 2009

Well, coming from one of my favorite Rhinebeck veterans, this is like The Oracle and dudes, I am paying attention.

Friday, I ran to my local yarn shop and got something to make something a little more in line with the program because: I have nothing to wear!!

Yes, the eternal mantra of fashionistas everywhere is Ringing in my Ears this morning as I read the weather forecast for Rhinebeck:

Friday Saturday
Chance Rain
47° F

|
34° F

Chance Rain

50° F
|
32° F

Chance Rain

50% chance of precipitation
Chance Rain

30% chance of precipitation

These *friendly* conditions call for ACTION!

Chill & Pill and needle and yarn and something easy and warm to snuggle down in because rain & 40-ish degrees makes my ears shiver.

I can do that ;p

  1. I hear ya! I”m suddenly and frantically trying to whip up a “Rhinebeck hat and scarf”, because somehow I think my “Rhinebeck sweater” isn’t going to get much visibility under my coat! ;)

  2. Would love to see a survey of how many people are trying to finish up a project to wear to Rhinebeck! I’ve been staying up late to finish a moss stitch jacket. In my delirium, I *think* I’ll also be able to quickly knit up a pumpkin hat for a friend’s baby to wear to her first Rhinebeck S&W festival.

  3. Oooh, I love that Cascade Ecological Wool stuff! It’ll look great no matter what you make! And–bonus–it’ll be ultra fast.

  4. I finished my Mondo Cable Cap last night and wore it this morning for our first California rain (deluge!!!) of the season. THIS HAT IS AWESOME: easy, comfy and a fun knit. Thanks so much. Have fun at Rhinebeck. I would take my cap. I have some Ecological Wool that I am thinking of using for one of the caps.

  5. Love that picture, wool & wood. I wanna knit! Too much work & too many things to do that are not knitting. (snif, snuffle, sob)

  6. Leaving Chicago whose weather looks much the same to go a cold, wet, rainy, vacation spot? Is this sanity?
