  1. My boyfriend had to use those at the movie theatre he worked at. It turns out that they are the only things that will remove all that sticky nasty stuff off of the top of a popcorn machine. As you found out though, they only take so much abuse.

  2. The first time I bought one of those erasers I couldn’t stop using it. I almost used it on the doggies!

  3. Not just great for wallmark obliteration, but floor scuffmark obliteration too! Last year when my then-12-yo DS was tap dancing, he’d practice on the kitchen floor with his tap shoes – scuffs everywhere! Yeah, I was still down there scrubbing, but it didn’t take very long to get rid of the scuffs when nothing else would.

Love the little girl robot, too.

  4. More importantly, did you find a poncho? How long do you think it will take to make. It almost seems worth the knitting! I have been waiting for your instructions to your black open cardi, or my new uniform for fall/winter 2005, to be printed. But maybe I’ll have time to poncho before!

  5. The Poncho (for the Martha Stewart Show taping) has not materialized! :) I think I missed the window for the tickets too! I WOULD LOVE to be a member of the audience that day – HERstorical for sure…

  6. I absolutely ADORE those things. I am always handing them out to the Unbelievers (those who think a scuff mark can NOT be removed from a wall and that we must live out our days in scuffed-up squalor–do I dramatize? I think NOT!) Aren’t they weird? Aren’t they funny?

Go, Bonne, and make them fishers of men! Or de-scuffers of walls, anyway.

(I do wonder, sometimes, how many times a wall can be de-scuffed before you micro-abrade a hole through the Sheetrock. Haven’t hid a joist yet, though!)

  7. They will also clean bathtub floors that seemed beyond all help, in my experience. I’m pretty sure Mr. Clean has a deal with the devil.

  8. Hee hee – I love those things! They remove the scuffs off of my tile like nobody’s business.

  9. I thought I loved those magic erasers! I removed the scuffs throughout my entire home and then noticed they were replaced by a circular shaped discoloration. Maybe it’s just because my walls are beige and it shows more on them?

  10. The ones with the blue backing scrubber help keep it a bit more together.
    Squish less maybe.

I use ours to get of dirty tub marks. Ohh, and floor scuffs. Wonderful.

Mr. Clean may have a deal with the devil, but I know plenty of women who would skip the proxy and sell their soul for such miraculous cleaning agents.

  11. LOL… I have those things too and went totally overboard the first time. Who knew cleaning could be so much fun!?!

  12. If Mr Clean has a a deal with the devil, then I’m happy to be one of Satan’s Handmaidens. I’m surrounded by a preschooler, a large dog, and a PhD. I need all the stain removal I can get.

  13. Erasing wall marks is my second favorite thing to do while on the phone! (Next to knitting, of course)

  14. I thought I was the only one who was so crazy about these things! When I first used one, I called my friend who has 3 year old twins and told her she HAD to get them! I tell everyone about them. I really really wish Mr. Clean would give me some sort of commission on them…

  15. Also great for quick cleanups of your ceramic stove top. If I don’t have time to get out the ceramic cleansing lotion, I use Mr. Clean Magic. Works great!

  16. Love ’em too but like Kathryn, I find that I can see where I’ve wiped on my sandy-coloured walls. Even days later (so it’s not that they’re wet). I’m not liking that so much.

  17. Hi Anne – are ya meanin’ the lower picture? Those wads of stuff are what’s left of the Magic Sponge after my cleaning frenzy – I wanted to get at every little bit of sponge, so in one insane moment, I cut it in half… :)

  18. Ooo magic erasers! I just made all of my dirty flip-flops pretty and new-looking with one of those!
