Just in time for the flirtatious atmosphere of (tickle me WARM tickle me COLD) November – the Green Cotton Ribby finally hits the Runway!
Ribbing just in the middle of both the arms and body sections makes a more relaxed shape – really cool if the cling don’t mean a thing in your world… I think I’m going to run some more brown stripes up the ribs closest to the zipper for a little sporting amusement…
ZIPPER? My original plan was for a button band – I made a vertical one and didn’t do the right size buttonholes for the buttons I was planning on using so Off with Its Thread! and on with a Zipper – which I prefer – I am wearing this to work in and it behaves much better for my purposes with that closure’s flexibility. To get the button bands off, I also had to frog the collar I had on it – which I wasn’t totally in love with… I AM in Love with this mock turtle tipped in Brown – which I then added to the edges of the sleeves in a wider band. They are now quite long, but I think I’ll get over it :)
And because I just can’t seem to leave a pattern or yarn in its original state (yes! even my own designs), I overdyed the entire thing (pre-brown yarn & zipper) in a frenzy during the World Series Playoff with a load of Procion MX dye in Bright Green. NOW it’s exactly the shade of my very favorite T-shirt and Heaven Help the Mister that sits between me and my Ribster on the #66 – shades not included…
Ooooooh I likey!
It’s beautiful!!! Simply breathtaking! But then, I love all things green. And zippers. I adore sweaters with zippers.
I wore my Ribby yesterday and decided I need to make a second one in a different color because it is so comfy and stylish.
Really cute sweater!
Very, very nice! And why am I not surprised that it’s green? :-)
Lovely! I really need to get cracking on mine.
That knit is not only bossed around, it is beaten into submission.
You are my hero.
Very “Half-Blood Prince cover” color – limaliciously green!
Hi Bonne Marie,
Just wanted to let you know that it was me waving hello to you at the B event at MF, I was wearing a turquoise top. It was cooling seeing you there amidst all the chaos, but not wearing anything knitted?…
Beautiful! Thanks so much for posting pics of the finished work.
Are these modifications included in the Ribby Cardi pattern you are selling? This version is *much* more appealing! I’m at that stage where cling *definitely* don’t mean a thing!
Hi Debbi! The only mod I made was I didn’t rib the sides…
Otherwise, I followed the pattern exactly as written.
