Ralph Lauren Store, Michigan Ave.
Why is it that Warm Weather and Bright Colors seem to be locked together in a torrid embrace?
For the past few weeks, the skies of Chicago have been drabbly heavy with thunder clouds and constant rain. The bright neon stripes of this tube top are shocking in their ability to almost blind with COLOR in the midst of all this gloom.
The Great Lakes Area is lucky to receive tropic-like sunshine for more than a few weeks every year. One year, I lived in a large house with a larger garden and counted the times I could sit out in the yard without extreme weather: 6 DAYS TOTAL. There was plenty of High wind. RAIN. And just the bleakest drab outlook for most of the summer.
Then again, we can have killer sunshine and temps for three months in a row.
As the temperatures now climb, the very same colors are starting to make sense…
So, perhaps, Mr. Ralph is practicing some Miami voodoo on us Northerners by dangling these clothes in our pallid little faces…
I would wear this suit in a second, if I lived 3 hours south…
What summer house wouldn’t be complete with some very bright cabled pillows and a kelly green afghan?
i’d wear that suit in a minute if i weren’t the size of a bus right now.
Are the pillows and afghan from Ralph Lauren also?
I have always wanted to know where do the people work who wear such suits to work? It’s like the really low-cut “work” suits in VS. Who goes to work in an office with that much clevage showing, and also are the hiring?
I LOVE that print skirt next to the suit! Did you make the pillows and throw? I like the colors.
What a great chair, pillows and throw. It is just waiting for someone to just sit down and knit.
Yes – those are all in the Ralph windows. The cabled afghan and pillows are really rather delightful in a over the top colorful way!
The cable pattern is a column of St st. seperated by a few purl stitches from a column of 6st cable.
In the second picture there is an orange afghan…
Hee Hee! And guess what else? In the South, people paint their HOUSES these colors!
Ahhh – someday, I’ll live in a shocking PINK HOUSE with Aqua Shutters…
Baja!??? HAHAHAHAHAHA
