a very slow atmosphere permeates the region
we are frosted with chilly grey and the air is thin

Totally in thrall to my Pack Rat DNA, I’ve been meaning to put these gifts away, clearing my dining room table. It’s January 10th – the month, indeed the year, is surely on its way. My big excuse though is that I live in a SoftLoft (choice realtorSpeak) and it really isn’t a dining room anyway so why can’t this furniture be a Display Table instead. Like FOREVER. (Like why take the Christmas lights down because you just have to put them back UP Next Year?)

AHH. Bless my friends and family for totally ignoring the Parka Culture I must live in on my *day job*. They know I have another life – a life as a Glamazon (if only in my mind…). Such girly treasure: a satin embroidered purse with a beaded handle. Satin beaded slippers. A huge Red Velvet/Brocade Hat Box with a Rhinestone Buckle…

Indeed! A hatbox filled with velvet rose petals, hiding a beautiful mirror hiding a Sephora Gift Card! OYE!

A Mirror which can tag along in the beautiful bag as it goes on its merry ways.

Joining the glitzy bonbon thats been hiding in my stash since 2002! Now that I am no longer in thrall to RibbonPhobia, let the adventure begin! What shall I make…

  1. I’m with ya Bonne, I finally took down the holiday cards that were decorating my mantle, but only because the housekeeper was coming today. Do you have enough of that ribbony stuff to make a slinky vest w/glass buttons?

  2. Oh, Oh, Oh the bling, bling, bling!! TO DIE FOR!!

Parkas be darned! Full steam ahead on the bling, and the glitzy ribbon. I can’t wait to see what you decide!!

  3. I have this same yarn in pink. I’ve had it for some months now and I’m planning to make a drop stitch scarf with it.

  4. Ooooh, fairy princess land! Sparkly shoes & magic bag & box – love it. I haven’t taken my little tree down either. Christmas lights are so beautiful on a dingy dark & overcast day. Maybe I’ll make a bunch of hearts & call it a Valentine’s tree ;o)

  5. Ok so the lights are still up chez moi. The kiddos begged and really, who am I to deny then such simple pleasures?

The handbag is stunning. And gorgeous. Perfect for a bit o’ glamming about town.

  6. OOOOHHHHH BONNE, it’s gotta be something to go with those shoes and that bag! And throw some teardrop crystal beads around the hem just because (I said that ’cause I just finished looking at a 1964 Vogue Knitting mag with evening knits).

  7. Sometime we all have to let our inner princess out to play for a while. You just leave those wonderful things out and enjoy them!
