Wind Chill: -1° February 8, 2011

Maybe it’s just the wind chill talking, but omg, am I ever grateful to be a knitter!

How else is someone supposed to stay cozy (and cute) while actually making something for later?

Here’s my current WIP in it’s 3/4 done state:

Not only does this piece live in the goregeous color zone, it is an alpaca blend, which makes it really a great lap blanket in the stitching.

But let’s not ignore that other Master of the Mountainside: MOHAIR!

Because I’m heading out into extreme temps today (and maybe working outside for prolonged periods), I’ve pulled out the big gun, a cardigan made from another beautiful blue:

This sweater is from ages ago – over 10 years – and only comes out to play every once in a while.

I love it – it’s one of the first sweaters I designed – with biggish cables and lovely glass buttons…

Pardon these quick shots! I’m the over-excited owner of a new Verizon iPhone and but of course, had to put the Hipstamatic app on the thing immediately – very interesting but slightly woozy looking at this. Hopefully, I’ll get the hang of it before the next time. Oh yes, there’s a next time with this one – my friend also recommended Instagram, an online album where there are many, many variations of these filters and lens, and they are addictive. I have to go lay down now…

  1. Love the new one – I have no clue how you are so productive knitting wise!

I love the one you are pulling out for today – the fuzziness makes it even more enticing!

  2. I’m wearing my cutaway with jeans today! Figured the weather called for a pause in the corporate dress code. It is a nice winter to be a knitter indeed! I’m curious to hear how you like the phone/service – I’m debating on it myself!

  3. I want the iPhone, but I just cannot justify it when my phone works just fine (and doesn’t require paying for a data plan).

I am rocking shrugs and shawls in the office. It’s too cold not to have an extra layer!
