Definitely the Poutine…Only cause I know KFC too well. I gotta get to Canada!
A chicken and an egg are laying in bed together. The chicken rolls over, lights a cigarette, turns to the egg and says “Well, I guess we answered that question.”
My favorite joke ever. Felt it was appropriate here. ;-)
LOL! Isn’t that KFC thing strange? Even down here in the southern U.S. (where we eat some heinous crap) people are seeing that commercial and going, “What??!!??”
The poutine looks delish (reminds me of chips and gravy), but the KFC bowl is just too scary! I don’t dare to click on the “Nutrition Facts” link.
Of course the Poutine came first! It’s been around FOREVER. And it is delicious, vraiment!
Poutine, of course! Wonderful “food” — especially on a January day in Ottawa when it’s -35… growing up, it was real comfort food for me! But only if it has real cheese curds on it… here in Toronto, they grate the cheese, and it’s just wrong.
Poutine came first, but why the heck did KFC feel the need to take it ten steps further? Wasn’t Poutine repulsive enough on it’s own?
Everytime I see that KFC commercial for that bowl of calories and carbohydrates, I gag. I agree with Karen B on the nutritional facts, I’m too afraid of what it might say. If you think that Alfredo Sauce is a “Heart Attack” on a plate, at least you go out eating something that tastes good, that pile of nonsense from KFC is just plain disgusting.
I don’t know about the Canadian thing, but it really doesn’t get me excited either. While I like all of the elements on their own, just piled up and doused in gravy is just all wrong. And yes, even here in sunny California I know what a cheese curd is and I even like them.
Poutine is the bestest thing to eat in Canada! Had it for the first time on a cooooold blustery day on a mountain at Mt. Tremblant.
Poutine! The best way to eat your fries. And of course, it has to be with squeaky cheese. Grated just doesn’t cut it.
All of it speaks to me and it’s saying, “Eat ME!”
Now the truth can be told that when my Mom was working days and my Pops was working nights, Dad would make us lunch. His idea of a gourmet meal was mashed potatoes with cream corn gravy.
He also was always begging Mom to put whole kernel corn in the pancake batter –
MIDWEST PRIDE! We love our Corn.
I want to go to Montreal next year for Jazz Fest and will definitely look up a some cheese curds (squeak!) and fries smacked up with the gravy du jour. Yum :p
Oh boy. Time to raid the fridge, I have been switching to more whole foods and less processed foods. I am feeling great, well until I just came here and saw both piles of pre-processed yummy goodness staring back at me. Thanks BM.
I did look at he KFC nutrition info., and it is everything you suspected and then some.
