Monday Morning Mirth

While I’m up in the northern Mitten, I’ve been routing around the house and came upon these three beauties.

Presenting, from 1962, a little trio of caps from a spread called “Three Cheers for Wool Hats!” by Coats and Clark.

From l. to r.: the Robin Hood Hat (with lovely oversized mondo sequins), Knitted Turban (trimmed with a lovely pin?), and the Bubble Hat (flatters *almost* anyone, according to the copy)…

Don’t be surprised if you spy one of these toppers on me tops this fall – but which one should I try?

  1. Oh, I love them all. You could whip them up and have your choice throughout the long Chicago winter!!!

  2. There is a certain cheerfulness about those mondo sequins. You’d know they were waving *HOWDY* whenever you turned your head…

  3. Three cheers indeed! Definitely Robin Hood – will look ripping with your new Derica Kane :) :) :) lol

  4. I love the color matching of hat and “joolery” in the picture — as well as the completely unflattering sweaters–bet they were nylon LOL

  5. What’s that line from the Streisand/Redford movie theme “Memories”? Oh yes……”what’s too painful to remember, we simply choose to forget”!!!!
