coming this weekend – a new ChicKnits Pattern!
In the venerable ChicKnits Tradition, one cannot let a holiday pass without some New Threads. So while I’m hustling to finish my Wavy Bulb (and thank god, it’s still cold), I snuck in this pulli, which I call: Gigi. It’s a little frisky, a little flirty and very pretty. This model was made using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece yarn with a gauge of 5 sts / 7 rows per inch.
It was my Easter outfit with a little squiggly polka dot print skirt.
I actually wore hose! Which I love but generally, on a daily basis, do not love me!
Last KIP, I was knitting like a machine, trying to finish this lovely lady. I was a maniac – I could feel the clock ticking – I couldn’t even pay attention to the conversations around me and probably sounded insane when I tried to speak! Go Bonne GO! It’s always a race to the finish line around the holidays here – someday, when I save enough money to get the professional POV I need, I will ask about this Holiday Garment Obsession. Until then, I believe I’m safe until, what, the Fourth of July?!!!
GIGI: I took it with me everywhere – worked into the wee hours finagleing the neckline until I got it just so. I had this design stuck in my mind for several months, just haven’t had
the Little BAD MUSE whispering those sweet nothings in my ear that generally START MY ENGINES.
But now it’s DONE! And wonder of wonders, it’s left me with some BAD SPRING FEVER! Warm weather? Bring it on!
Gigi is gorgeous! What a beautiful, classic top!Brown and pink are such popular colors this year. What yarn did you use?
I love it!
Hey! Is that pink and brown that I see? Very springy! What a great design!
Fantastic, and very Now (but not in a trendy way)! I love love love love love it. :-)
What a cute sweater! Love the color combination, can’t wait till the pattern comes out!
How lovely. Might make me rethink my issues with pink and brown! I hope you had a lovely holiday in Michigan!
Love, love, love the new pattern. Now I have another pattern that I need to make for Spring. Darn it. 8^)
Fab-ooo! It looks like it was a perfect Easter sweater! And I had no idea you were making it “from scratch”, so to speak. I will definitely get that pattern… I seem to do more off-season knitting than anyone else I know…
Oh my gosh, that is the cutest sweater. Gotta have it!
I LOVE Gigi and I must have it! So cute for Spring! Once again another great piece from Chicknits!
I love pastels with brown! Rock on.
Pantyhose also hate me. I laugh when I see expensive designer pairs going for $20-45… no matter how spiffy the hose, I’m only gonna get one wear out of them. Snags everywhere. Bah.
be still my heart — she’s lovely!
I love it! I’m sorry I got to see you doing the mad finishing rush at KIP last week. Very cute.
Love it!!! and I can actually buy that yarn in my area too! awesome :)
Oh Rapture! Sweet Bliss, my needles have achingly longed for another ChicKnits creation to be cast on. Bonne Marie you are a most merciful knitting goddess, bestowing blessings upon your faithful readers. It is fit for a Goddess. May all your stitches be blessed you darling creature.
Gigi is gorgeous. Pink and brown is my favorite color combo. I’m wearing a plain, not gorgeous like Gigi, pink sweater with a brown skirt today!
Oh boy! Hurry, so we can purchase it! It’s lovely!!!
Gigi is just lovely! (And a big surprise, too!)
For your next trick, would you consider offering Ribby Cardie in multiple (i.e. bigger) sizes? Pretty please? :-)
Wow – that looks gorgeous. I just love those colours and the neckline looks fascinating. It will have to be a next years spring project for me but I can’t wait to see the pattern.
Va-va voom! I must have. And in cotton fleece, no less. My new favorite yarn!
It’s love at first sight!! I really love the neckline. That will definitely go on my list!
what a great design! I WANT that one!
Gigi is absolutely precious! I can’t wait to get the pattern. So when does the Gigi a-long begin ;)
You do amazing work and I cannot wait to get that pattern! Even though I’ve got some projects to complete first…Spring sweaters like that can work for early Fall as well. So cute..as always.
Love it, love it, love it. And it’s so feminine. Is the contrast around the neckline Brown Sheep as well? It almost looks like leather trim in the pic. Outstanding job and am looking forward to Monday!
count me in for that pattern. btw…i will have to make it in the identical colours!! those are my colours!!
As original and chic as ever! It has “Easter” written all over it. So this is a project you had going “on the side”…oh my, you are ONE productive knitter. In awe as always, Jen
what a stylish design! i love the neckline and colors you chose. will this be a pattern we can buy?
I love your Gigi!!! So simple and pretty. Love it. I do hope you’re going to write up the pattern?
OMG! Thank you ALL very much for your kind words! I really love this design and can’t wait to see it on YOU!
In the works: that multi-sized Ribby Cardie is moving right along. More surprises brewing @the Workshop as well…
pinku must have gigi. very cute and very spring!!!!
Beautiful, Bonne Marie!
Gigi is gorgeous Bonne Marie. No surprises there. Can’t wait for the pattern for this one as well as the multi-sized Ribby Cardie. Definite musts for me. I guess I’m going to have to get the Bottoms Up bucket hat now to give me something new to cast on for!
Thanks as always for the great styles.
I looooooove it! What a wonderful spring sweater! As soon as that pattern is in print, I’ll be the first to jump on it. Great colors, too! I’m so glad that pink and brown are big this season, because they truly are my favorite color combination. Now I have an excuse to make something in pink and brown besides a handbag!
Pretty — *very* pretty! :-)
i want it, the pattern that is. and i’m loving cotton fleece right now (working on a blanket out of it, so nice). i can imagine how gigi must feel. the neckline is lovely. well done!
Oh, Gigi is beautiful. I am hoping the pattern will come in my (plus) size. Can’t wait for you to post it.
Damn. You did it again. Released another pattern out into the world that I am lusting too do. You are one talented chica! Please keep them coming!
Yay, a new pattern! It’s gorgeous. Also hoping it comes in plus sizes (48″? Please?)
