Monday Morning Mirth
Out for a walk up north in Michigan a couple of weeks ago, I came upon a sight I’d seen a hundred times before but never reallly noticed.
This is an ancient maple tree in my Mother’s yard. Next to it is my car, on the lower left.
The scale of one to the other delighted me and spoke volumes…
Wow! I know there are some old-growth, never cut forests in the UP. Perhaps that maple would qualify.
Right now, after Gustov and Ike, my first thought was “it would wipe out the house when it comes down”. Sorry. I do know that maples are much stronger than water oaks.
Amazing, isn’t it, how little we think to look UP. So much that we miss living in two dimensions.
Beautiful tree!
Seeing this reminds me that I ought to be more humble.
Oh, that’s lovely! Thanks for the photo–it made me smile too.
