  1. Only in a place the size of New York can you have a store — and a large store at that — entirely devoted to buttons. Of course it helps that the entire fashion industry shops there. I don’t know how well I’d handle a walk through the fashion district. I’d probably be swooning at every window display.

  2. M&J is such a great place! I’m looking forward to checking out Mood Fabrics (made famous on Project Runway). A new place to explore!

  3. What an interesting photo set! There’s something fresh and new, yet old and durable about New York. Even if, like Manny’s, you’re going out of business, there’s still the potential for something better on the way.

  4. Great pictures! Thanks for posting! I wish I had taken time to be a garment district tourist back when I visited NY frequently for work, instead of just being a garment district business tripper.

  5. Looks like you’re having a wonderful time!
    I love the pictures.

I was in your neck of the woods at a meeting, just as you were leaving, I suspect. I finally got to meet Vicki at Loopy. Their new space is so awesome! I came on a Friday night, so had a little time to sit and knit. Fun was had by all.

  6. Looks like ya’ll are having a blast! Great pic’s and fantastic subject matter. Would love that gigantic button and needle in my back yard as yard art. The passerby’s would run off the road seeing that out there. Please post more pictures as you can.

  7. Love the pictures of the Fashion District! I just got back from NYC yesterday. I spent Monday afternoon exploring the Fashion District and was totally awed. I want to go back when I have more time. Have fun!!

  8. Oh, I used to work around there and would walk by all those places on a daily basis. Seeing these pictures is making me homesick.
