HA HA! I’ve been waiting for this day. Temperatures finally getting more fall like (at least in the morning) and over here that calls for celebration with a new outfit!
This is the lacy version of the Basic Chic Hoodie, and due to the fact that I’m still living in my bedroom (with its really low, craptastic lighting), pictures are, erm, a touch grainy so I couldn’t get a decent detail shot. This one was made at ISO800 and that’s pretty cool for such a high speed. You can see the noise (yellow splotches) all over the thing but hey, maybe it makes it look a little vintage?! like I toned it with a filter. My sister likes to *age* fabric things with tea; maybe this looks something like that. ;p
Even a trip to NY did not yield Gray Buttons! We’ve got almost every color under the Big Sky except that one, so we went with some mother-of-pearl beauties that have been marinating in the button box. It was interesting that they looked very (too) colorful and shiny while attached to the button cardboad, but once they were sewn on, they blend in rather nicely…
I’ve already got about 4 inches done on the yoke of another BCHoodie, in black wool and there’s a surprise detail about to hit the waves…
HAVE A HAPPY WEEKEND!
Ooh, looks great! I just bought this pattern last night – I’m starting the lacy version in Cotton Ease in Azalea this afternoon! I have a long car ride ahead of me, and needed something new on the needles. I’ve been dying to make this ever since I saw the pattern be released. Thanks for sharing your talent with us :)
I’ve got the pattern and 1200 yards of 220 in black…I’ll be waiting! Have a great weekend yourself!
OOH! That should be gorgeous in the Azalea color!
Patty: think donuts…
Do you have a different sweater for every cold day? I mean really, girl! You make me feel so inadequate;-)
Wait, you went all the way to NYC in search of grey buttons? (Just kidding. I think.)
I love the cardigan!
I just love your designs. This is on my list for fall!
I like the buttons. Even though they blend in they give it some sparkle!
That is a lovely sweater!! A really good use of CE too!
Love. It. I’m knitting that next, when I finish my s.sleeve ribby hoodie, now 75% done. Can’t wait!
I’m not big on hoodies, but I must say that’s a very nice one. Nice enough that I’m tempted.
Thank you very much! I live in me hoodies…
Just beautiful! By the way, I might have some Moving Mud buttons in black and gray you’ll enjoy. Just a thought…
Lovely design!
I really like the combination of the charming and feminine front details and the sportiness of the hood.
it’s beautiful bonne marie! i love it with the lace detail. i’m about 6 inches into mine, in the plain version, and already planning version 2 in lace :)
Bee-utiful knitting! I love the detailing with the lace. So pretty.
Gorgeous design!
