finally…

Color: #149 Stone
Gauge: 19sts/24rows over 4″
Needles: #5 & #7

HA HA! I’ve been waiting for this day. Temperatures finally getting more fall like (at least in the morning) and over here that calls for celebration with a new outfit!

This is the lacy version of the Basic Chic Hoodie, and due to the fact that I’m still living in my bedroom (with its really low, craptastic lighting), pictures are, erm, a touch grainy so I couldn’t get a decent detail shot. This one was made at ISO800 and that’s pretty cool for such a high speed. You can see the noise (yellow splotches) all over the thing but hey, maybe it makes it look a little vintage?! like I toned it with a filter. My sister likes to *age* fabric things with tea; maybe this looks something like that. ;p

Even a trip to NY did not yield Gray Buttons! We’ve got almost every color under the Big Sky except that one, so we went with some mother-of-pearl beauties that have been marinating in the button box. It was interesting that they looked very (too) colorful and shiny while attached to the button cardboad, but once they were sewn on, they blend in rather nicely…

I’ve already got about 4 inches done on the yoke of another BCHoodie, in black wool and there’s a surprise detail about to hit the waves…

HAVE A HAPPY WEEKEND!

  1. Ooh, looks great! I just bought this pattern last night – I’m starting the lacy version in Cotton Ease in Azalea this afternoon! I have a long car ride ahead of me, and needed something new on the needles. I’ve been dying to make this ever since I saw the pattern be released. Thanks for sharing your talent with us :)

  2. I really like the combination of the charming and feminine front details and the sportiness of the hood.

  3. it’s beautiful bonne marie! i love it with the lace detail. i’m about 6 inches into mine, in the plain version, and already planning version 2 in lace :)
