Working with this yarn is just too much temptation. One cannot sit down with a plate of fresh warm chocolate chip cookies and eat just one, non?
So far, I’ve only made a sweater out of this stuff and a scarf. It was infinitely intriguing to watch the stripe patterns unfold and reveal their secrets. This is the type of yarn I want to unspin to see all of the nuances of strands that make up its mystery. (Nothing beats being entertained by the yarn itself when one is making Christmas gifts!) Needless to say, this was also a hit on the bus. Riders of the #66 give Kureyon a big thumbs up and to my happiness KNEW I was knitting a HAT!

The Noro yarns are fun to use with your bucket hat pattern. I made one with Shinano last year in the brown colorway (*cough* http://purelaine.typepad.com/photos/galerie/bucket.html *cough*) and me like very much! And now, I’ll have to make one with Kureyon!!!

Love the hat. I’ve had your bucket pattern for a while and have been waiting for the right yarn to make one. I just bought some Daekito which is similar to Noro. One question I have is whether you doubled the yarn on the brim with the Noro (I think that’s what the pattern called for) – or would that screw up the striping? Thanks, Gina
I am knitting a baby sweater with Noro Silk garden. I was trying to describe to my husband why this yarn is so completely addictive!! You described it perfectly. It is nearly impossible to put down, I am constantly waiting to see what the next color will be…..

Argh! I’ve been craving Noro since Last mon when a fellow s&ber had a project in kureyon. Thus far I’ve been able to resist thus far but the $50 I got last night for doing an illusion knitting thing for a local guild. I’m hoarding that $50 and I’m gonna get some noro something or other… and I’m gonna make something for ME! Don’t they have a cashmere yarn….
Beautiful Noro buckets, Bonne and Deborah. I looked at your website Deborah and am quite surprised that a city like Montreal would have only one (maybe 2 now?) good yarn shop. I have heard the same thing about Dublin. Don’t people knit in these cold places? Here in Portland we have at least 4 or 5. Business idea for you yarn-a-holics out there?

Karen, Montreal has more than 2 yarn shops, but those two are the ones that carry all the good stuff. And there might be some that I don’t know of…

My mean Mom taught me to knit last year starting right off the bat with Noro. She’s a total yarn snob! It’s been an expensive but stripey pretty hobby ever since! Even my new kitten has a Noro swatch for a toy!
Oh, man…! The pups and I waited all week hoping New Threads Friday was going to be Tweedy Bird. We’re disappointed, but consoled (somewhat) by the fab Noro bucket :-)
Is this from your new aran weight non-felted pattern? I have the bottoms up pattern and my daughter has been bugging me to make her a hat from some of the Kureyon I picked up a couple of months ago (colour 40, it’s beautiful). I was hoping to make her a felted version – but maybe that won’t work?
This hat was made using the Aran Gauge Bucket. Kureyon is kind of a weird yarn – the sweater I made, I used #10 needles and the loft of the wool filled in the spaces nicely, especially after washing.
BUT, I think you would do WONDERFULLY using the Felted Bucket Hat Pattern…

It looks great! I ordered me-self some Kureyon that should be arriving this week because I’ve heard such rave reviews about this yarn. Once it gets here, I will figure out what to make, but you sure give three fantastic ideas!
