  1. Well, I was NOT EVEN CLOSE. I thought I had everything but the toe decreases, but no. I do not even remotely deserve the sock yarn–congrats to Mandy. I’m glad I didn’t enter my pitiful attempt–would have been laughed right off the internet. Thanks for the great pattern! It’s off to the yarn store to buy my own ball of Opal!

  2. Thanks for the great pattern. Just need to go thru my stash to find my Opal. Great fun!!

  3. Hi Bonne, I LOVE the chocolate button. So shiny and yummy looking! I tried to figure out your notes but I just couldn’t. Now it turns out I have made socks just exactly like that! Even with the s1k1 heel flap. I liked the Opal yarn, I was very intrigued by your contest. Make up some more! It was fun.

  4. Congrats to Mandy! Looks very similar to the sock pattern that resides in my head, as well. I’m going to have to try out that toe decrease sequence, though. It looks nicer than mine. The former proofreader in me can’t help pointing out that the third row of the heel turn ought to have p2tog instead of k2tog (and I can’t wait to see what awful typo I leave in this, since comments pointing out typos always have errors in them.)

  5. Well, knock me over the head! Those are just like ones I’ve knitted! Methinks it’s time to learn short hand (although I have heard it’s equal in difficulty to the mastery of 6 languages).
Congrats Mandy, you fully deserve that Opal!
