Garnished AT Last…

dailyFINI.jpg

VOILA! What a difference some buttons make, as in, FINI!

This little fusion cardi is finally ripe to meet the day! Why I stalled over some button sewing is beyond my IQ this week but it happened nonetheless. (I stole the original Green Marl buttons for the Cotton Ribby – button guilt?)

b.Limey indeed…

Smile a mighty grin.
Feet up high lift knees to chin.
Music is no sin.
DANCE, the Muse, BEGIN!

  1. Beautiful sweater — I love it! Perfectly springy for northern climates, where you can still see your breath in the morning but the afternoons sometimes reach a balmy 57 degrees! It looks great on you too!

  2. The sweater is beautiful, love the color and it looks great on you with your coloring. But, I have question. It may be dumb but I am new to this whole knitting thing. What is “Fusion”?

  3. Fusion is a term that refers to knitting that combines machine knitting with hand knitting. I made the plain stockinette parts of the sweater on a Silver Reed LK-150 and then made all the ribbed parts by hand…

There’s a link to machine knitting in the right sidebar under Complete Notes for more fun…

  4. Interesting! That splains that. I’ll have to read up on that machine knitting. Thanks.

  5. What a great sweater! And it looks wonderful on you. Really, I learn so much from your blog. I didn’t know what fusion knitting was until today, and I LOVED reading everything I ever wanted to know about martinis yesterday, and thanks ever so much for the tip about Crazy Aunt Purl! Enjoy your lovely new creation.

  6. Wow, Bonne Marie, it looks fabulous on you. Perfect shape, perfect shade. Also, I am laughing about Tracy Ullmann…I love her particular sense of humor, so that should be a must read. What a funny bandwagon, though….

  7. what a great little cardigan. I was really feeling the lack of something like this in my wardrobe just this morning.

  8. So wonderful! I hope you’ll find the time to write up and sell this pattern too.

The little bad muse won’t be dancing like that for much longer, unless of course she can’t kick the Red Bull and Marlboro habits :)

  9. Bonne, you MUST share this pattern with us! It is so classic and wonderful. Please! Don’t reduce us to begging.

  10. Great sweater on you Bonne! I also put in a vote for the pattern sometime in the future. I also love your latest ribby cardi. I think I may make my first ribby out of cotton yarn as you suggested, as soon as my samoa arrives (maybe today!). Thanks for all your ideas and help.

  11. That is absolutely fabulous! I never cease to be impressed by your attention to detail and workmanship. It makes me want to be a better knitter.

P.S. And you know what? That looks like *just* the thing to wear in Paris in the springtime. Hee! [Sings: I love Paris in the springtime…]

  12. Looks great! I have my Knitware software set so that it can generate “fusion” patterns, with the ribbing handknit and the body on the USM. However, I haven’t produced anything as lovely as this! Way to go.

  13. Love your b.limey Spring sweater! It’s always great to see another new threads Friday roll around, hot off the needles, here at ChicKnits!
