Ode to ONDE
================
Onde = Wave
I’ve made a little experimental progress on Le Gilet Onde.
I am making my first sleeve! Why get excited about a sleeve? Well, here at the ChicKnits Workshop sleeves are like a giant case of the cooties.
Avoid them!
Act like they don’t exist, even though your perfect garment of choice is always a sweater with not one but TWO SLEEVES…
So, by starting my Onde with a Sleeve Fest, I kill two birds with one stone:
1. I get those pesky cootie crawlin’ things out of the way right away.
2. I get to see how a NEW YARN acts under the needle.
CONCLUSION: I love this stuff. I was, like many of you out there, ready to flame it to a melted little pile over its acrylic content and small gauge, but wonder of wonders, my instincts held and it is going to be a BEAUT!
Sleeves….I shudder at the thought! I am waiting breathlessly for my Onde delivery, and will start then. Went with the Volcan (pink to orange-ish). Good to hear that the yarn really is knittable.
I *so* want this yarn and I *so* cannot find out where to get it.
*pout*
I love it too! Couldn’t put it down, change color CHANGE! I am impressed by your sleeve prowess, bold move…
the only way i can stand doing sleeves is to do both simultaneously on long circulars. then at least i only have to go through it once!
Ooh, looks yummy!
What a fabulous idea, I always dreaded sleeves. The color looks lovely from my monitor. Any new chicknits patterns in the works?
I love that colour….think i might have to go find some Onde…I like the idea of doing the sleeves first…and at the same time even better!
