If you’re going to demonstrate something, it’s a good idea to have some props.
Tomorrow, at Yarncon, I’ll be showing how to set in a sleeve and but of course, the natural props would be:

It didn’t take a very long search around Chez Chic to come up with some candidates.;p
Someone like me who loves to start projects and incrementally finish them, over a period of months, nay, years, is actually at an advantage on days like this!
Who’s to say that the Cassidy cardi started in 2008(!), isn’t going to come in handy, when it *donates* one of its parts to the cause?
Or, even further back, something I called OLIVIA (name now gone awol abroad on other’s projects) which had sleeves knit up to the edge ribbing and a body knit in full. The original plan on this one was to edge it with some lace but, like the name, this idea became too similar to other’s to release.
But, it too, like the Cassidy sweater, was very willing to become the biggest prop of all — the guinea pig — the spokesmodel on stage — and tomorrow, it will be the one that gets finished in real time during the demo.
All it took was a little sweat equity and before I knew it, the blocking rug and the wonky blue-snowman coverlet my Moms gave me for Christmas long ago were doing their duty on the living room floor. Fresh sweater parts, nice wooly smell about the place.

Although I normally would curse you in many ways, even in many languages, today you sure came in handy! What you whispered in my ear so many many months ago is now going to be one big bang!
Not only will The Muse hopefully translate into many other projects by many other people, I end up with a pretty (chartruese, cough) *new* sweater, all ready for the turning of the leaves…
