Self-Portrait TUESDAY!

New Threads TUESDAY!
This pair of socks was supposed to be finished A Long Time Ago…
Don’t really understand why they went missing for months – Summertime? – Tedium?- Ignorance?
They started out around mid-March 2006 from some lovely Lorna’s Laces gleaned from a studio sale in 2003 (see June 19th entry) – proof positive there is no expiration date on w.o.o.l.
a pair of socks after months/years by last year’s Socktoberfest (hi Lolly! who’s now hosting a Green Sock Knitalong with the beautiful Maritza). The others are still waiting their turn – any suggestions for the Bumble Bee colourway??? ;p
I adore these socks – I’ve always adored the Lorna’s Laces sock yarn – but these are quite the midwinter pick-me-up!
Yum! Beautiful colors in a soft small gauge flirty yarn…
These skeins were what Kathy Kelly called Burnt Cookies – or *seconds* from the studio, but all I can see is that they are a little fraternal and had occasional pops of yellow.

Gorgeous!
oooooh, I love me some ChicDrumsticks in wooly goodness!
these are beautiful… i love the colors & the cute self-portrait!
Ahhh, you have cute knees! Love the sock.
Hooray! I knew they were almost finished, no matter what you claimed! :)
Definitely a mid-winter (can it be mid-winter if it hasn’t even felt like early winter?) pick-me-up. Love the colours & LL is such lovely yarn!!
Oh sock loooove! Those are some great colors, what a great “kick in the pants” of color for all this blah weather. See, I just got done making socks for quite a few family members for Christmas and have sworn off socks for a month or two…but now? Thanks you Enabler! I am trying very hard to break my sweater curse and finish my Ribby Cardi. Oh sweet temptation.
Good job….doesn’t matter how long it took them to come to life; they’re here now!
Very cheerful! Just the thing for a winter pick-me-up. :-)
As for the Bumblebee yarn, just knit it plain and let it do its thing. Or maybe go Jaywalking. ;-)
Let the bumblebee do its thing in stockinette. I made some Jaywalkers in Lorna’sLaces “Pinstripe” (I think that they are the quinessential “LaSalle Street” socks) but I find that the socks are difficult to put on & take off because there isn’t much stretch in the region just above the heel.
I’m making some in a similar colorway now! I love yours, in particular the differences between the two.
I adore sock knitting but almost never wear socks (it’s fishnets, sheer black hose, or bare for me.) Lucky hubby has only handknit socks in his wardrobe. :)
So cute! I’d let the bumblebees strut their stuff in stockinette … maybe with a picot edge.
So pretty…a breath of spring! :)
OOHlala – I’m diggin’ the idea of the BumbleBee with Picot Tops – so very Olive Oyl…
Lovely! Fantastic winter “pick me ups”!
Just what knit doctor ordered!
Those are really pretty! Come to think of it, I’ve got Shepherd Sport in that colorway somewhere. Or rather, one skein is in my sock yarn collection, but the other has gone…AWOL…
yAHOO!
They are lovely!
Such pretty socks, they look good enough to eat! Superman socks, anyone?
