the flip side of the Super Cold Coin is Super Warm

The more I see the grey, grey skies, the more I seek the something warm indoors.

Hot coffee in my cold cold morning hands. Check.

Hooded, felted sweater. On.

Vintage Fuzzy Feet. Check.

b.Lime on the Mannie. CHECK!

Well, all the stash diving I did to find this yarn warmed me right up! It’s better than three days up in Wisconsin! BTW, have any of you ever gone up and sampled those indoor heated Water Parks at the Dells in the middle of winter? Better than Vegas, baby…

looking at these picture galleries makes me warm inside….

WHOA. But I’ve been doing my own kind of warm-up: straight from the stash, some chartruese Jo Sharp DK, [they called the color “Maple”]. I’ve been burning up ye olde machine doing knitting *laps* and it’s time for an inspection. I’ve blocked and seamed the body and have pinned the sleeves to it to check the fit. Check.

  2. “Maple”? I’m a Canuck — from Quebec — so I *know* my maples — and that ain’t it, even when their leaves are at their greenest… Of course, Jo is an Aussie, so…maybe they have different maples down under!

    That said, looks like you’ve got a beauty on the mannie, there, Bonne Marie!

  7. Hmmm, have to agree with everyone else on “maple”. Lovin’ the sweater footage, can’t wait to see that finished product. There’s nothing like a good shot of lime to pull you out of that cold weather funk.

  9. WHAT???? Wisconsin Dells has resorts with heated indoor water parks? Damn…I am so there. But, on the other hand, that sweater makes me think of spring…and the fact that I have a green sweater on the needles that, like Snoopy’s chocolate chip cookie, is calling to me…I definitely have to find that and turn it into an FO.
    Or, maybe it’s just Wisconsin Dells that is calling..

    And thanks for the fun reminder about Wisconsin Dells. Some years ago we had a year’s assignment on the east coast — on the drive east, we stayed not too far from Wisconsin Dells and our kids (4 and 7) found a tourist magazine for Wisconsin Dells. Needless to say, the Dells became a MUST for our return journey. I prefer less “commercial” in my fun, but we had a blast.

  15. Oh, sure, lure people to The Dells with promises of hot water and slides and such, but don’t warn them that that town is The Cheesy Capital of the World. A 10-story high Trojan horse. A life-size model of the White House, upside down b/c it has supposedly been bombed. And many, many other attractions that I have blocked from my memory.

    Like the sweater, though…

  16. Am I being too literal? Burning up ye old machine doing laps? Can’t decide whether you mean an actual knitting machine or just the machine-like repetitiveness of stockinette on hand needles – do you use knitting machines for the long boring stretches? Inquiring (and sometimes lazy) minds want to know…
