… things to do …

swatch_0922.jpg

Swatch, swatch, swatch! Indeed, you can find the motto above (and 9 others) painted around the perimeter of one of Chicago’s finest moments, the Stitching Salon!

free knitting patterns

Gathering on any afternoon, you will find like-minded and passionate knitters of all ages and skills DOWNTOWN at 72 E. Randolph St. I took this picture on opening day when it was standing room only – so many knitters showed up they were lined up outside the gallery waiting to get in!

This has proved to be so popular,
it has been extended until March 31, 2007.

  1. Holy handpainted yarn, b. Marie! Both pieces of news are terrific. I may even be able to participate now that the Salon has been extended. And a new yarn emporium in the hood? Tres cool.

  2. The Big Windy is good to its knitters! I love that photo, it looks like they are at some kntting starting line, poised, ready to start.

  3. I was thrilled to get the email about the Stitching Salon being extended. I hope they give Lauren a raise! I’ve been down only twice(opening day and once for a film) but it makes me so happy to know it’s there and has been a success. Hope to see you at a KIP soon.

  4. Wow, that is really beautiful!

I wonder…how easy would it be to set something like that up here in Columbus?

    (Wow…community action? What’s gotten into Rat? ;))
